Check Compatibility Installation GuideUp and running in minutes
Foom wires in series with your existing wall switch — no electrician, no permits, no modifications to your fireplace.
Connect the wires
Attach Foom's male spade connectors to your fireplace's switch terminals. Plug your wall switch into the female connectors.
Power up Foom
Connect a standard USB-C power supply. Foom will broadcast a "foom" Wi-Fi hotspot within seconds.
Configure Wi-Fi
Connect to the "foom" hotspot from your phone, enter your home Wi-Fi credentials, and you're online.
Control with your voice
Ask Alexa, Siri, or your Home Assistant dashboard to turn the fireplace on or off from anywhere in your home.
Everything you need. Nothing you don't.
Foom is designed to be simple, reliable, and safe — the way a device controlling a gas appliance should be.
Wall switch still works
Your original wall switch stays connected and works exactly as it did before. Foom adds smart control without taking anything away.
Local-first options
The HomeKit and local Alexa variants operate entirely on your home network — no cloud account, no subscription, no data leaving your home.
Fail-safe design
If Foom loses power or internet, a normally-closed safety relay automatically restores full control to your wall switch.
Easy setup portal
No app to install. Connect to the "foom" Wi-Fi hotspot and configure everything through a simple browser page.
Over-the-air updates
Firmware updates are delivered wirelessly — no need to disconnect or re-flash the device.
Made in the USA
Assembled and tested domestically. Every unit goes through a full hardware QA checklist before shipping.
Built with gas appliance safety in mind
The safety relay
Foom includes a dedicated safety relay wired in series with the wall switch. This relay is normally closed — meaning it only opens (allows smart control) when Foom is actively powered and online. The moment Foom loses power for any reason, the relay snaps closed and the wall switch resumes full control of your fireplace. Smart control is an addition, not a replacement.
No false activations at startup
Foom's firmware ignores the physical switch input during the first second of boot. Before trusting any "on" signal from the switch, the firmware requires seeing an "off" reading first. This prevents a shorted or stuck switch wire from igniting the fireplace at startup.
